How to choose a Profile Crankset for your Fixed Bicycle
It's best to go with the Spline Drive sprockets or spiders versus a bolt on sprocket or spider, because the back and forth pressure of accelerating and braking loosens the sprocket bolt and wears out the sprocket or spider prematurely.
For the narrowest Q-Factor (width between pedals)
- Profile Internal Bearing BB (Most fixed gear frames are 68mm BB’s).
- 5 1/4 Gun Drilled Hollow BB Spindle
- Profile Spline Drive Sprocket or Profile Fixed
Spline Drive Spider (130 or 144 BCD)
- Profile NoBoss Crank Arms.
For the strongest/most durable bearings:
- Profile Outboard Bearing BB (Most fixed gear frames are 68mm BB’s).
- 5 5/8 Gun Drilled Hollow BB Spindle
- Profile BMX Spline Drive Spider (4 arm 104 or 5 arm 110 BCD)
- Profile NoBoss Crank Arms.
